Scott Young is the Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer of LodgeNet Entertainment Corporation (NASD: LNET). In this role, Mr. Young is responsible for managing the Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Content Acquisitions and Programming areas of the company.
Prior to joining LodgeNet, Mr. Young held a variety of executive positions at Best Buy, including serving as Vice President Digital Entertainment, Vice President of Music Merchandising and Vice President and General Manager Entertainment for BestBuy.com. Mr. Young was part of the original team that launched BestBuy.com and grew the business to become a leading entertainment and media e-commerce site in its first two years of operation. In addition, during his career at Best Buy, Mr. Young was responsible for leading a number of initiatives designed to grow new digital entertainment service revenues for the company, including the creation and execution of significant new entertainment service opportunities with partners such as Apple, Microsoft, Sirius Satellite Radio and Netflix.
A native of Pennsylvania, Mr. Young started his career as an entrepreneur and studio operator in New York. He has also held executive positions in marketing and merchandising at Capitol Records, Ticketmaster and BMG Entertainment.
Mr. Young earned his bachelors degree from Yale University and his M.B.A. from UCLA. He is a member of the National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS). |
