Scott D. Phillips, Vice President, assists companies and counsel in transactional, tax, litigation, strategy, and financial reporting matters involving trademarks and brands, patents and technologies, copyrights and artistic properties, and business interests. In the transactional setting, Mr. Phillips advises companies on valuation and pricing issues in the context of licensing, acquisitions, joint ventures, bankruptcy, restructuring, and investment holding companies. His testimony experience includes federal, state, and tax court matters regarding the valuation of brands, patents, lost profits, reasonable royalties, and businesses. Mr. Phillips also assists companies and governmental agencies on IP strategy and compliance issues. These projects generally involve transfer pricing between related entities; valuation for financial reporting; or strategy assignments involving the development of IP inventories, benchmarks, and competitive assessments. |
