Mr. Weires’ practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, primarily in the areas of class actions, business disputes, homeowner/condominium associations, trade secrets, real estate, ADA litigation (accessibility), construction, cable and Internet, and antitrust.
During the last 10 years, Mr. Weires has been involved in defending Fortune 500 clients in more than 40 different class actions filed throughout the country. The litigation has generally focused on consumer protection disputes, fraud, breach of contract, and other business related torts. Specifically, Mr. Weires served as counsel for AT & T Broadband and Internet Services, LLC, Comcast Cable Communications, Inc., Jones Intercable, Adelphia, MediaOne and other cable operators in defending the company against suits challenging the company’s late fee policy and other billing procedures.
Moreover, Mr. Weires successfully defended St. Gobain, the world’s second largest manufacturer of building materials, in a statewide consumer class action which alleged deceptive product labeling.
Most recently, Mr. Weires has acted as litigation defense counsel for the nation’s largest Toyota distributor and various automobile dealership groups. His legal achievements are complemented by a dual degree in Finance and Accounting, and his experience as a CPA (Florida Certified Public Accountant currently inactive).
