Mr. Swain is the chair of the firm’s Tax and Estate Planning Group. Mr. Swain serves clients statewide, focusing on estate planning, taxation law, charitable planning and business planning. His clients consist primarily of high net-worth individuals, business owners, public and private charities, and fiduciaries of large trusts and estates.
Mr. Swain's legal experience includes the representation of clients in tax and estate planning matters, business entity structure and formation, asset protection and charitable giving. He frequently lectures to attorney and CPA groups on tax and estate planning topics. Mr. Swain has a wealth of experience representing closely held businesses and business owners in commercial transactions and corporate and tax matters. Prior to joining the firm, he spent five years with Hughes Aircraft Company drafting and negotiating high dollar U.S. and foreign defense contracts.
During law school Mr. Swain was editor of the BYU Journal of Legal Studies, and edited and compiled portions of "Utah Probate Law," BYU Journal of Legal Studies, 1986. He has been recognized in Best Lawyers in America and as a Nevada Super Lawyer. Mr. Swain is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.
