Scott is an Of Counsel attorney in the Affordable Housing section of Coats Rose. Scott joined the firm's Austin office in October 2006, with more than 12 years of experience representing developers of affordable housing.
He served as General Counsel of a real estate development firm and closed partnerships financed with Section 42 Housing Tax Credits and loans financed by conventional and governmental lenders. He assisted the Chicago Housing Authority with redeveloping the Cabrini-Green public housing high-rise towers into mixed-finance properties such as North Town Village, combining public housing, tax credit and market-rate homes in a 272 apartment development.
Scott has assisted with successful applications for Louisiana GO Zone housing tax credits. He has served as affordable housing legal advisor to the master developer for Austin's Mueller Airport redevelopment and is a board member of the Austin Tenants Council.
Practice Emphasis
Scott has served as Counsel to local government agencies for-profit and nonprofit developers in closing financing, such as Section 42 tax credits, home loans and private activity bonds.
