Sayan has held a variety of technical executive management positions at startups and mid-size software and product companies, building several effective product engineering organizations in the process. He brings his specific experience in software, tools, security, and RF products to SkyeTek. Just prior to joining SkyeTek, Sayan led the software organization for Atheros Communications (NASDAQ: ATHR), a leader in wireless ICs and products. Sayan was also Executive VP for Engineering, Operations, Product Marketing and Inside Sales at Sigaba, a venture-backed startup in the secure authentication, protocols, and messaging industry before he joined Atheros. Sayan previously held a variety of management positions at Cygnus Solutions, a founder of the commercial open source software industry (acquired by Red Hat (Nasdaq: RHAT)), including VP Sales, VP Marketing, VP Operations, VP Engineering, and General Manager. Prior to Cygnus, Sayan did actual work as an engineer and technical lead on high precision GPS products and software at Trimble Navigation, and before that, on deep space exploration spacecraft at NASA/JPL. Sayan received his SB and SM degrees in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT with a focus on control systems and linear mathematics, and has completed coursework towards a graduate degree in writing.
