Saul Shiffman, Ph.D., is co-founder and chief science officer for invivodata, inc. where he is responsible for advising on the scientific aspects of product development and delivery. Over the past 20 years, he has repeatedly been recognized for defining the concepts for real-time, real-world collection of PRO data - which led to the development of electronic diaries - as they are known today.
Dr. Shiffman is professor of psychology (clinical and health psychology), psychiatry and pharmaceutical sciences at the University of Pittsburgh, has served on various scientific panels for the National Institutes of Health, and he has served as a consultant to the pharmaceutical industry and a site investigator for more than a decade. He has authored more than 250 peer-reviewed publications - many on scientific methods for collecting data on real-world behavior and experience - and was recently awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by Good Clinical Practice Journal for these contributions. Dr. Shiffman earned his PhD. Degree from UCLA.
