Sarah Nikiforow, M.D. and Ph.D.Internal Medicine Resident Yale-New Haven Hospital Dr. Sarah Nikiforow is a Senior Advisor to Cronus Partners. She earned her Ph.D. in Immunobiology for work on the role of CD4+ T cells in preventing Epstein-Barr Virus-induced B cell proliferation and her M.D. cum laude with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. Dr. Nikiforow’s Ph.D. work involved creation of a novel experimental monitoring system and bridging the expertise of human virology and mouse immunology; she has authored eight peer-reviewed publications, presented her work at numerous national and international scientific meetings, and collaborated with researchers throughout the Yale University community and at Rockefeller University in New York City. Her current research focuses on the etiology of anemia in the elderly and is being conducted in conjunction with the Dana Farber Cancer Center under Dr. Nancy Berliner, head of Hematology. Dr. Nikiforow also will serve in 2008-2009 as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at Yale before beginning a Hematology and Oncology Fellowship.
