Sarah Mullen is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm’s Boston office. She is a member of the Firm’s Labor and Employment Group.
In her employment practice, Sarah advises clients on a wide variety of state and federal laws that effect the workplace, including law governing wages and hours, fair employment practices, fair pay, disability, reasonable accommodations, discrimination, wrongful termination, family and medical leave, reductions in force, plant closings, background and credit investigations and more. She also helps employers draft and enforce non-competition, non-solicitation, and non-disclosure agreements. Sarah represents clients in litigation matters before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, as well as before state and federal courts.
Sarah also practices traditional labor law, representing and counseling management in a variety of matters, including collective bargaining negotiations and unfair labor practice charges before the National Labor Relations Board. She advises clients on the National Labor Relations Act and assists troubled companies in the areas of labor and pension reorganizing under Chapter 11 of the Federal Bankruptcy Code.
Sarah earned her J.D. from the George Washington University School of Law, graduating with high honors and as a member of the Order of the Coif. While in law school, Sarah was a member of the George Washington University Law Review and the Phi Delta Phi honors fraternity. Sarah earned a bachelor’s degree, with honors, in Women’s Studies from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.
Sarah is an active member of the Women’s Bar Association and the Boston Bar Associations. She is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Maine and Massachusetts.
