Sarah Kotchian, PhD, is a consultant in environmental and public health systems and services. She conducts work for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to strengthen national, state, and local environmental health services and to promote environmental health leadership. She retired in 2007 from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, where she served as the Associate Director for Planning for the UNM Institute for Public Health. Prior to that role, she was Director of the Albuquerque Environmental Health Department for more than fourteen years, serving under five mayoral administrations.
Dr. Kotchian received her bachelor's degree from Middlebury College, a master's of education from Harvard University Graduate School of Education, a master's of Public Health from the University of Washington School of Public Health, and a PhD from the University of New Mexico.
She serves as the Vice-Chair of the Presbyterian Board, Chair of the Board Quality Committee and has served on the PHS Board since 1991. |
