Ms. Guss has 20 years of experience in environmental engineering with emphasis on solid waste management and landfills. She spent several years in various planning, engineering and permitting positions with the Indiana State Board of Health and was the Solid Waste Manager for the Indianapolis Department of Public Works. She has extensive expertise in both engineering and planning evaluations related to solid waste management, landfills, waste-to-energy facilities, recycling, composting, and household hazardous waste. She played key roles in large projects at the City of Indianapolis such as design and construction of the Resource Recovery Facility, privatization of solid waste collections, and public outreach for solid waste management issues. In addition, Ms. Guss managed the design, permitting, construction and operation of ash monofills accepting ash from the Indianapolis Resource Recovery Facility and has provided compliance support to Southside Landfill. |
