Sara Troy Machir is Vice President for Communications and Investor Relations with Star Scientific, Inc. Ms. Machir joined the company in December 2000, after serving as a consultant to Star on external communications. She served as the company’s Communications Director from 2001 to 2003. Prior to 2000, Ms. Machir consulted, primarily in association with Alexander and Associates, Washington, DC. on strategic management issues for a variety of public companies. She is a graduate of Georgetown University, Washington, DC, with a degree in Languages and International Business.
Ms. Machir has been a member of the board of trustees of Children’s Hospital in Washington, DC since 1986, and served a chair of that board from 2001-2004. She currently is a member of the Children’s National Medical Center board, and chairs the steering committee of the St. Columba’s Counseling Center in Washington, DC |
