Santiago Corcuera-Cabezut is a partner of Curtis, Mallet-Prevost Colt & Mosle LLP and Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle, S.C. His practice focuses on corporate law, finance and securities, project finance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures, corporate governance, and international contracts.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Corcuera was a partner at Kuri Breña, Sánchez Ugarte, Corcuera y Aznar in Mexico City, where he structured and implemented the largest securitizations of toll roads in Mexico and took part in various private equity investments in Mexican companies. In addition, he participated in the issuance of debt and equity securities for Mexican companies in the Mexican and international markets. Mr. Corcuera has experience in financings and restructurings of large Mexican corporations, representing both lenders and borrowers.
Mr. Corcuera has acted as the secretary of the board of directors of Mexican financial institutions and other publicly traded companies, where he oversaw regulatory and corporate governance compliance.
Mr. Corcuera was Dean of the Law School of the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City, from 1996-97, where he also coordinated a masters level program and taught courses in corporate law, constitutional law of human rights, and foreign investments.
He is regularly invited to participate in national and international symposiums, conferences and seminars.
