Sandra Fivecoat is a life-long educator with extensive managerial, sales and marketing experience in both the public and private sectors. She is a recognized national authority on educational technology with more than twenty years experience in developing and implementing technology strategies and research in instruction and administration. Sandra is currently the president of a consulting firm, Fivecoat & Associates, which specializes in the education technology space. Current and recent clients include Dell, Inc and Standard and Poor’s. Most recently, Sandy’s corporate role was as the Senior Vice-President of Sales for Lightspan (and Plato for 4 months after the merger of Plato and Lightspan), where she was a member of the CEO’s executive staff and was responsible for the preparation and implementation of strategic plans, budgets, channel development, sales coverage models, compensation planning, and market focus for the company’s revenue generation unit. Prior to that Sandra was the Southeast Education Area Director for Apple Computer, responsible for sales of over $500 million in a 13 state area, where she worked closely with state and government officials. Sandra was the first Director of Education Technology in the Texas Department of Education, where she was instrumental in providing statewide leadership and policy development. Sandra has been widely published, and received a B.S. and M.Ed (Cum laude) in Mathematics Education from the University of Texas, Austin.
