Sandra L. Knapp is the managing partner of the firm and engages in a wide area of corporate practice. She has practiced in the Philadelphia area for over 20 years representing clients throughout the United States and abroad. Prior to forming Knapp McConomy Merlie LLP, Sandy was a partner with Krusen, Evans & Byrne and subsequently with Fox, Rothschild, O'Brien & Frankel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Ms. Knapp is a graduate of Lehigh University in 1981 (B.S. in Finance; B.A. in International Studies) and Villanova University School of Law in 1986, where she was a member of the Villanova Law Review. Ms. Knapp is a member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States and past Chair of its Marine Finance Committee and formerly a member of its Board of Directors. She is also a member of the American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Chester County Bar Association and is admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States. Ms. Knapp is active in the port community as well as the local Chester County community. She is on the Board of the Historic Yellow Springs and a past member of the International Trade Council of the Chester County Development Council. She is a past Board member of the Seamen's Church Institute. She serves on Lehigh University’s Greek Alumni Council and Lehigh University’s Gamma Phi Beta House Corporation Board. With more than 20 years of experience in the legal arena, Ms. Knapp represents clients in a broad range of transactional and general corporate matters, including marine finance, asset-based lending transactions, mergers and acquisitions, U.S. based joint ventures for international companies, real estate, sale-leaseback transactions, construction contracts, leases and charters. She is frequently involved in multimillion-dollar financing and acquisition transactions for companies both nationally and internationally. |
