Sam was a director and the founder of Krugliak, Wilkins, Griffiths & Dougherty Co., L.P.A. Sam’s practice focused in corporate, estate, and probate law. A graduate of the University of Michigan where he earned both his AB and JD degrees, he has served as International President of the University of Michigan Alumni Association.
Sam was very active with the Stark County Bar Association, as well as the Ohio State and the American Bar Associations. He had also served as the past president of the Stark County Bar Association and former chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Ohio Supreme Court. Sam also served as the first Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Stark County as well as working as the Assistant City Solicitor for the city of Canton.
Sam has been a member of the Boards of Directors for many local companies including Fresh Mark, Inc. (Sugardale Foods and Superior’s Brand Meats), and Nickles Bakery.
Sam passed away in April of 2003 and is survived by and his wife, Aurelia and family.
Krugliak, Wilkins, Griffiths & Dougherty has endowed a $10,000 student scholarship in his honor. Funds from the Samuel Krugliak Scholarship Endowment will be awarded annually to students who are entering law school and law students who maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The student(s) may be full- or part-time, must reside in Stark County and should exhibit financial need, with priority given to those whose financial need cannot be met through other means such as government grants and loans. The award will be limited to the cost of tuition, books and lab supplies. Students who remain eligible may reapply for the scholarship from year-to-year, thereby assisting students in completing their degrees.
