Dr. Klein is the director of the Washington University Center for Human Nutrition, associate program director of the General Clinical Research Center, and medical director of the Barnes-Jewish Hospital Nutrition Support Service. He is also a professor of medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He received his MD from Temple University Medical School, and an MS in nutritional biochemistry and metabolism from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He completed his residency training in internal medicine and a clinical nutrition fellowship at University Hospital in Boston. He also completed a nutrition research fellowship at Harvard Medical School in Boston and a gastroenterology fellowship at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. Dr. Klein's primary research is focused on the regulation of metabolism, particularly lipid metabolism in obesity. |
