Mr. Owen joined SeniorHealth’s board of directors in September 2005. He is an experienced healthcare executive, having begun his healthcare career in 1969 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He has worked with not-for-profit and for profit healthcare organizations. Mr. Owen joined Hospital Corporation of America in 1973 and served in various executive roles focusing on hospital operations and development projects. He became Senior Vice President of Development for HCA before leaving in 1990 to become co-owner and CEO of Cumberland Health Systems, Inc., a management company owning and operating psychiatric and general medical hospitals. Mr. Owen has served on numerous boards of private and public companies and other service and educational organizations. Following graduation from University of Mississippi in 1964, he served for three years in U.S. Army Medical Services Corps, attaining rank of captain. Mr. Owen received a master’s degree in healthcare administration in 1969 from Washington University in St. Louis. |
