Samuel F. Hulbert Ph.D. served from 1976 through May 2004 as President of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Rose-Hulman has been ranked by U.S. News and World Report for the past three consecutive years as the nation's best college among schools that offer a bachelor's or master's degree as their highest degree in engineering. Prior to Rose-Hulman Dr. Hulbert held professorships at Tulane University and Clemson University. Dr. Hulbert has been named to numerous "who's who" lists and honored with a variety of awards for his accomplishments in biomedical engineering. He served as a board member of NYSE company Sofamor Danek Group Inc. from 1983 until it was acquired by Medtronic (NYSE: MDT) in 1999 and currently serves on the board of directors for the following organizations: the Indiana Business Modernization and Technology Corp. the International Center for Telecommunications Technology Thomas and Skinner Inc. Cook Biotech and Old National Bank. Dr. Hulbert graduated in 1964 with a Ph.D. degree in ceramic engineering from Alfred University in Alfred NY and received an honorary doctor of law degree from Indiana University in 1981. |
