Samantha Whitney provides the senior leadership for Knowledge Management at Carlyle Group. She is responsible for managing the firm's information infrastructure, developing intellectual capital, and identifying strategic business development opportunities. Samantha developed and launched the firm’s Competitive Intelligence services. She and her team of specialists work directly with client executives who need an informed view of their competitor’s leadership talent and organization. Based on her significant expertise in research, knowledge management and competitive intelligence, she directed global research initiatives for Carlyle's former parent organization, Whitney Group. Samantha set the strategic direction for knowledge management and competitive intelligence. Prior to joining Carlyle Group, Samantha worked as a consultant with a leading business and legal information provider and as a law firm research specialist. Samantha was honored by the Special Libraries Association as the recipient of the Thomson Award for Outstanding Achievement in Business Librarianship. She is the co-author of Computer-Assisted Legal Research, a best-selling publication published by the American Bar Association. Samantha is a Past President of the Special Libraries Association's Illinois Chapter. Samantha received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Kalamazoo College and a Master of Information and Library Studies from the University of Michigan. |
