Samantha Smith received her Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California, Davis with a major degree in Political Science, Public Interest and a minor degree in Sociology of Law. She received her Juris Doctor degree from University of California, Hastings College of the Law where she earned several awards of distinction for her skills in legal writing and research, and served as an Equal Justice American fellow.
Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Smith worked at plaintiffs' firm in the San Francisco Bay area. As an associate at Coughlin Stoia, Ms. Smith's practice focuses primarily on class action consumer protection. She is currently a member of the California Bar, and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern, Central and Northern Districts of California, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Ms. Smith is also a member of the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice.
