Ms. Longroy is a partner with Carrington Coleman and has focused her legal practice on environmental and commercial real estate law. In her environmental law practice, Ms. Longroy has advised landowners and prospective purchasers related to environmental site assessments, voluntary and agency-ordered cleanups, remediation agreements, and permitting requirements, often in connection with commercial real estate or capital transactions. She has also counseled land and business owners concerning compliance issues and voluntary self-audits. Ms. Longroy works alongside CCSB litigators providing substantive support to federal and state environmental litigation, including toxic tort, cost-recovery actions, citizen suits, and environmental insurance defense, and has defended administrative enforcement actions and criminal investigations. Ms. Longroy's real estate practice primarily focuses on commercial, industrial, and residential subdivision building and development, which has frequently involved issues concerning land use, water rights, and resolving landowner disputes. She offers counseling to both buyers and sellers of real estate, landlords and tenants concerning commercial leases, including build-to-suit, pad site and ground leases, and has assisted borrowers in negotiating mortgage loan documents. Prior to commencing her law practice and while pursuing her legal education, Ms. Longroy worked for a major consumer and animal health care products manufacturer that sold pesticides, animal drugs, animal feeds, and various other consumer products. She began her career as an analytical chemist, managed the company's custom consumer business, and ultimately managed its regulatory affairs department. Her former employer presented Ms. Longroy with awards in recognition of her outstanding contribution, innovation, and impact at the company. Ms. Longroy was recognized by the College of the State Bar of Texas as one of the top three authors of the Outstanding CLE Article of the Year for her article "A Lawyer's Perspective on Environmental Reporting Ethics," presented at the Texas Environmental Superconference in Austin, Texas on August 2, 2002. She is also is listed in the 2006-2007 edition of The Best Lawyers in America in the specialty of Environmental Law. |
