Ryan Shaw (CISSP) is a Principal Security Consultant for Special Ops Security, with nine years' experience in information systems security. Shaw has extensive experience encompassing the IT security lifecycle including the assessment, design, implementation, and operation of information security programs and systems. Prior to Special Ops Security, he served as Director of Integrated Security Research for Getronics' Managed Security Services practice. Under his direction, the research organization built lab networks to support InfoSec product evaluation, malicious code analysis, and attack vector modeling. In addition, he oversaw the development of a border traffic collection appliance and its supporting back-end aggregation and trending console. Ryan's work included internal and customer security consulting comprised of penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, application security reviews, and the management of on-site physical security. Ryan began his tenure with Getronics by managing the expansion of Intrusion Analysis Operations from a single technology to a best of breed solution set. Previously, he has served as a penetration tester and information security consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, a senior security and systems engineer for Logicon, and has worked extensively with the Department of Justice and the U.S. State Department's Consular Affairs Division. Ryan was a contributing author of Wireless Security: Models, Threats, and Solutions and has earned the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP 34868) designation as well as being both a SANS GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. Ryan holds a Bachelor's degree from James Madison University and is actively pursuing a Masters of Science degree from George Washington University. |
