Mr. Works is an associate in the Las Vegas office of McDonald Carano Wilson, working primarily in the areas of business and commercial litigation, creditor and debtor rights, bankruptcy and insolvency and government affairs. Mr. Works has been with McDonald Carano Wilson since 2004 and is a member of the Firm’s Government Affairs Committee, Litigation Practice Group and Bankruptcy and Insolvency Practice Group. He is licensed to practice before all of the state and federal courts of Nevada. He has successfully represented his clients’ interests in administrative proceedings, state and municipal courts, federal and bankruptcy courts, as well as the Las Vegas City Council and the Nevada State Legislature.
Mr. Works has lived in Nevada for 28 years and grew up in the State Capitol, Carson City. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2000. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2004. He was the Nevada Law Editor for the Nevada Law Journal and a national finalist for the Society of Advocates National Moot Court Team. Upon graduation, Mr. Works received the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Service.
Mr. Works has represented debtors, creditors, investors and other interested parties in numerous bankruptcy cases including: In re Barcelona Shade & Ironworks; In re Lifestream Technologies; In re Seven Hills Radiology; In re Lombardi’s of Desert Passage; In re USA Commercial Mortgage; In re Magnolia Village; In re SiVault Systems, Inc.; In re A-Title, Inc. (Prudential Americana); In re Heartland Automotive Holdings, Inc.; In re Island Galleries, Inc.; and In re National Residential Communities. Most recently, Mr. Works represented the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Lake Las Vegas Joint Venture bankruptcy matter, the largest in State history. |
