Ruth E. Mendyk is a shareholder in the Fresno office, specializing in facilities and business matters for public school districts. She has broad experience in counseling school districts in the areas of public bidding, contract negotiations, public records and open meeting laws. She has also worked extensively with cities and other public agencies in negotiating real property purchase agreements and in the eminent domain process.
Since joining Lozano Smith in 1996, Ms. Mendyk has represented school districts and county offices of education in areas such as personnel matters, student issues, and general education law. Ms. Mendyk serves as the co-chair of the firm's Facilities and Business Practices Group. She has presented workshops for CASBO and ACSA on topics including competitive bidding under the Public Contract Code and eminent domain proceedings.
Ms. Mendyk received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln College of Law in 1991 and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota in 1988. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Fresno County Young Lawyers Association. |
