Russell Allyn focuses his practice on commercial litigation. He is a member of the Financial Industries Practice Groups. He has represented numerous corporate, banking and other financial clients in both state and federal courts.
Mr. Allyn has experience in alternative dispute resolution forums including mediations and arbitrations. He has appeared before the Securities and Exchange Commission and prepared cases before the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission. He has also appeared before JAMS Endispute the American Arbitration Association and Judicate West.
Mr. Allyn has successfully defended national class actions. His recent reported decisions include:
* Najarian v. Charlotte Russe, Inc., 2007 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 59879 (C.D. Cal. 2007) (successfully defeated class certification of FCRA/Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act claim);
*Hipolito v. AllianceOne Receivables Management, 2005 W.L. 1662137 (N.D. Cal. 2005) (F.R.C.P. 12(b)(6) motion to dismiss FDCPA class action claim granted without leave to amend;
*Ramsire v. Collectcorp, Inc., 2005 W.L. 3095948 (N.D. Cal. 2005) (dismissal of class action claim).
Mr. Allyn received his B.A. in Political Science and History from the University of California at San Diego in 1986. He received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1989, where he was awarded the American Jurisprudence Award in Commercial Paper.
