As senior vice president of Strategic Development, Rusty Lewis is responsible for running a new VeriSign organization that identifies internal issues affecting corporate strategic plans. In addition, he is responsible for managing employee and customer transition activities, including strategic planning and partnerships.
From February 2002 until January 2005, Mr. Lewis served as general manager of VeriSign's Naming and Directory Services Group.
Prior to joining VeriSign, Mr. Lewis ran a wireless transportation systems integration company for 15 years that was a leader in electronic toll collection systems using RFID technology and two-way radio communications networks. He acquired the company, Syntonic Technology, from Control Data in 1986 and served its President and CEO until 1994, when the company was sold to SAIC. Mr. Lewis ran the successor entity, TransCore, for SAIC until it was sold to a private equity firm in 1999.
Prior to 1986, Mr. Lewis managed an oil and gas exploration subsidiary of UGI Corporation and was a Vice President of EF Hutton in the Municipal Finance group. Mr. Lewis serves as Director of Delta Petroleum (symbol:DPTR). He also serves as principal for Lewis Capital Group, a private investment and business consulting entity that is a vehicle for personal investments.
Mr. Lewis is a graduate of Deerfield Academy and holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Haverford College and has a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School. |
