Russell M. Jackson, 49, is Senior Vice President of Human Resources for PG&E Corporation and its utility unit, Pacific Gas and Electric Company.
Jackson is responsible for the policies governing human resources and provides strategic oversight in the areas of compensation, benefits, labor relations, staffing and leadership development for both the holding company and the utility, which together employ more than 20,000 people.
Jackson joined Pacific Gas and Electric Company as a member of the Customer Services organization in 1980. Over the next 17 years, he held various positions of steadily increasing responsibility in the Customer Services, Marketing and General Management areas. He became Assistant to the President and CEO in 1997. In 1998, he became Vice President, Customer Service. In 1999, Jackson was elected as Vice President, Human Resources for Pacific Gas and Electric Company and retained that role in June 2004 when he was also named as the Vice President of Human Resources for PG&E Corporation. Jackson was named to his current position of Senior Vice President of Human Resources in August of 2004.
Jackson is a graduate of San Jose State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration. He also earned an M.B.A. in business management from St. Mary's College, and a master's degree in human resources and organizational development from the University of San Francisco. Jackson also holds a certificate in human resource management from the University of California, Berkeley Extension Program.
In addition to his duties at PG&E Corporation, Jackson is a member of the Public Utilities Employer's Institute, the Western States Labor Management Public Affairs Committee, and the California Public Utilities Commission's California Utility Diversity Council. |
