Russell E. Haney is president of Harris Corporation’s Government Communications Systems Division (GCSD) National Programs business unit, reporting to the group president of Integrated Systems and Services. The National Programs business unit supports primarily space and intelligence community programs for the U.S. Government. GCSD develops and produces advanced communications and information systems for the Department of Defense and other government agencies and their prime contractors. Prior to being named to his current position, Mr. Haney was vice president general manager of the Aerospace and Ground Communication Systems (AGCS) programs organization. He was previously vice president of Technology Systems Programs for AGCS. Mr. Haney joined the former Harris Government Aerospace Systems Division programs organization in 1979. Through a series of rotational assignments, he held leadership positions in programs, finance, and business development. He gained broad exposure to Harris’ various businesses including Aerospace Systems, Satellite Communications Operations, the Semiconductor Military and Aerospace Division, and the Government Communication Systems Division. He was named director of Business Development, and later, director of Programs in 1997. Mr. Haney holds a B.S. from Florida State University, an M.S.E.E. from the University of Florida, and an M.B.A. from Stetson University. He is also a graduate of the Harris WIN Government Systems (WINGS) management development program, and the recipient of numerous exemplary leadership awards in both business development and program management. He is a member of the Air Force Association, the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, the Aerospace Industries Association, Association of the United States Army, National Space Club, Intelligence and National Security Alliance, National Defense Industrial Association, and the Association of Old Crows. He is on the Board of Supervisors for Florida Space Authority.
