Russ DiBenedetto has been First Senior Vice President and Auditor of New York Community Bancorp, Inc. and its primary subsidiary, New York Community Bank, since January 1, 2003, having previously served as Senior Vice President and Auditor since January 1, 1991, and Vice President and Auditor since January 1, 1989.
Prior to joining the Company as Auditor in 1987, Mr. DiBenedetto served as Audit Manager for the Savings Bank Trust Company, later known as Nationar, for 15 years.
A graduate of the New York Institute of Technology with a degree in accounting, Mr. DiBenedetto also provides leadership to several professional organizations. In addition to having served as President of both the Community Bankers Forum of New York State and the Long Island Group for Savings Institution Auditors, Mr. DiBenedetto has been an active member of the Financial Managers Society, the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, the Long Island Fraud & Forgeries Association, the National Association of Chiefs of Police, and the American Society for Industrial Security. |
