Ross Gallinger, VP Environment, Health, Safety and Community. Mr. Gallinger graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture. He began his career as Assistant Environmental Coordinator at the Equity Silver Mine in Houston, B.C. From there, he held environmental positions with the Premier Gold Project, the Bell Mine, as well as Northwood Pulp and Timber. In 1995, Mr. Gallinger relocated to Toronto where he rose to the position of Director, Environment for Rio Algom Limited, with responsibilities for many projects in South America. In this capacity, he received the President’s Award for lifetime achievement for his contribution to the success of the Antamina Project. In 2000, Mr. Gallinger moved to Chile as Manager, Health, Safety, Environment and Community for the Spence Project. After Billiton’s purchase of Rio Algom and the subsequent merger with BHP, he was named Manager, Environment for the
Base Metals division of BHPBilliton, relocating to Houston, Texas, in 2003. From 2004 to 2006, Mr. Gallinger was Vice President, Sustainability with Placer Dome Canada in Toronto. Mr. Gallinger joined IAMGOLD Corporation in May 2006. |
