Ron Thomason is a Vice President at Mobius Security Group. Ron has more than 20 years experience in government and corporate intelligence and security operations, with over 10 years of specific experience in transportation security planning, operations, and training. He has conducted security audits of maritime, energy and rail operations and facilities, and developed grant proposals that resulted in more than $50 million of funding for transportation security projects.He is an adjunct instructor in counterterrorism, transportation security, and regulatory compliance at the US Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), and is a senior maritime counterterrorism instructor at the Maritime Security Institute. He has developed and instructed courses in threat recognition, operational security, and transportation and cargo security to US and foreign government and industry groups, and is actively involved in developing multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional transportation security exercises in accordance with Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Domestic Preparedness’ Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HESEEP).Ron serves as a Governor of the Maritime Security Council and is their representative on an advisory panel to the US Secretary of Transportation. He assisted in drafting language for a major piece of transportation security legislation, and maintains ongoing liaison with the US Senate’s Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee. He also serves as a transportation industry representative to the US Bureau for the International Police Organization (INTERPOL). |
