Dr. Caronia is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma and cataract surgery. Dr. Caronia received his Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania and his Medical degree from New York Medical College. After his residency at Lenox Hill Hospital, where he served as Chief resident, Dr. Caronia completed a Fellowship in Glaucoma at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Dr. Caronia is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine. He is actively involved in residency training in the field of glaucoma and assisting residents in surgery at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and Nassau County Medical Center. He has published numerous articles in the major journals of ophthalmology and has spoken nationally on various topics in the field of glaucoma. He recently wrote a textbook about glaucoma. Dr. Caronia is a member of numerous professional societies including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, Medical Society of the State of New York, New York Glaucoma Society and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
Dr. Caronia is a partner in Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island.
