Ron, now serving his first term as an at-large director, is a graduate of Andover Newton Theological School. He was ordained in 1990 and has standing in the Metropolitan Boston Association. Ron holds a Masters Degree in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was a Contract Officer for special target populations with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta.
Ron has served as Assistant Pastor at Neville’s Chapel, United Church of Christ in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and was former Minister of Education at Memorial Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, Sudbury, and Massachusetts. Ron is a former President and Executive Director of the Black Ecumenical Commission of Massachusetts.
A former volunteer with the American Peace Corps, Ron served as staff to a project that evolved from his work as a volunteer, which brought 55 new volunteers to India. He was a member of a delegation of Witness for Peace volunteers to Nicaragua during the height of the Sandinista Revolt and joined a delegation to the Middle East during the Gulf War. He represented Witness for Peace in Haiti in 1992 and served on its National Steering Committee. Ron is a graduate of the National Coalition Building Institute.
