Ron James is president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Center for Ethical Business Cultures of the University of St. Thomas. The Center assists business leaders in creating ethical and profitable business cultures.
James also teaches business ethics in the graduate programs at the University of St. Thomas College of Business and the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. He is a national public speaker and was recognized in 2006 by the Society for Corporate Compliance and Ethics.
James formerly served on the Advisory Group of the United States Sentencing Commission; participated in the President's Economic Summit focusing on corporate responsibility; and served as president and CEO of the Human Resources Group, an international division of Ceridian Corporation. Prior to joining Ceridian, he served as Minnesota's top executive officer for US West Communications, Inc. and regional vice president of US West, which included responsibilities for Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska.
James also currently serves as a board member of the Best Buy Corporation, the Tamarack Funds (an Investment fund of RBC Dain Rauscher), Bremer Financial Corporation and The Travelers Companies Inc., with past affiliations on the boards of Ceridian Corporation and Automotive Industries. Civically, he serves on the boards of the Greater Twin Cities United Way (former chair) and the Guthrie Theater (former chair).
