Ron is a Venture Partner in the Wellesley Hills, MA office, specializing in the wireless sector. He joined BVP in August 2003, bringing over 20 years of industry experience to the firm. He has since guided BVP's investments in Advanced Recognition Technologies, where he served as Chairman of the Board until the company's acquisition by Scansoft. Ron also serves on the boards of HandsOn Mobile (a leading mobile entertainment company), GoTV (the leading made for mobile video studio), Millennial Media (wireless advertising), 3G Scene (a mobile casino), FG Wireless (3G handset design house located in Shanghai), Access Retail (alternate advertising network for GenY), Kajeet (Tween focused MVNO), Way Systems (mobile POS) and Netuitive (network intelligence).Until early 2003, Ron was CEO of Octave Communications, a maker of teleconferencing equipment in which BVP invested. He led the company's international expansion and developed its wireless strategy, guiding it to an acquisition by Voyant Technologies. Ron joined Octave from Lernout & Hauspie, where he became President of Speech and Language Systems after the acquisition of Dictaphone. At Dictaphone, he held a number of executive positions including managing director of Canadian operations, vice president of marketing and product development, and senior vice president and general manager of communication recording systems and international operations. Ron is a graduate of Bucknell University. |
