LodgeWorks Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Rolf E. Ruhfus previously served as chairman of the All-Suites Division of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. Prior to that he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Summerfield Hotel Corporation from 1987 until Summerfield’s June 1998 merger with Patriot American Hospitality/Wyndham International.Rolf helped to grow the world’s first and largest extended-stay brand as President of The Residence Inn Company from January 1983 through July 1987, when the company was acquired by Marriott. Under Rolf’s leadership, The Residence Inn Company grew to include 103 hotels.From 1979 through 1983, Rolf led the Stuttgart operation for VARTA Battery, Europe’s largest battery manufacturer. Prior to that, he served as a management consultant for McKinsey and Company in its Düsseldorf, Germany office.A former German Air Force Lieutenant, Rolf received a bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University. His graduate degrees include a master’s degree in business administration from the Wharton School, and a Ph.D. in marketing from the University of Münster. An international business executive, Rolf is a member of the International Chapter of YPO and serves on the boards of several European and U.S. companies including Innkeepers, U.S.A. |
