As vice president and general manager of Asia Pacific, Roland Wolfram is responsible for Nike’s business in Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand and India.
Before joining Nike, Roland worked in the cable TV industry at SBC/Pacific Telesis from 1993 to 1998. He also worked at Compression Labs, a video conferencing equipment company, from 1992 to 1993, and at McKinsey and Company, a global management consulting firm, from 1986 to 1991.
Roland enjoys skiing, playing soccer, hiking and taking family outings to the beach and mountains with his wife and three daughters.
The defining moment in sports for Roland was when Franz Klammer won the Olympic gold medal in downhill skiing in Innsbruck in 1976. Klammer’s run was done on the edge of control after all the top seeds finished their races, and he won the gold medal, he said. It was the first time a downhill ski race had been televised completely, which allowed you to watch the whole thing unfold from top to bottom. |
