Mr. Mattos has been an alternate member of our board of directors as a nominee of Petroquisa since September 29, 2002. Mr. Mattos has occupied several executive positions with Petrobras since 1979. He has been the manager of business development of Petrobras since 1998 and a member of the fiscal council of the pension fund of Petrobras (PETROS Fundação Petrobras de Seguridade Social Petros), or PETROS, since 2003. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro. Mr. Mattos also attended a senior executive program at the Harvard Business School.
