Mr. Ramsey is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of VeriCenter and is employed by the company. Mr. Ramsey is a cofounder, former Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of Allied Waste Industries (NYSE: AW), the second largest waste management company in the United States, with revenues of $5.5 billion. Growth companies in which he has been involved have raised more than $12 billion in national and international capital markets. Mr. Ramsey began his career as a CPA with Arthur Andersen & Co., where he was a Manager in the Tax Department. In 1968, he cofounded and, until 1976, was Vice President and CFO of Browning-Ferris Industries, Inc. (BFI), a New York Stock Exchange company with annual sales in excess of $3 billion; BFI was acquired by Allied Waste in 1999.
In 1976, Mr. Ramsey formed and became President of Criterion Capital Corporation, a venture capital investment company that was the lead investor in, several projects, including a Houston bank that grew to more than $500 million in assets when it was sold to a large Texas bank holding company; Criterion Group, Inc., a publicly owned, registered investment advisor with more than $12 billion under management; Houston's largest independent title company until its sale to a large national company; a mortgage company that grew to more than $400 million before it was sold; and ROLM Corporation, a manufacturer of sophisticated communication systems that was subsequently acquired by IBM. Mr. Ramsey was a cofounder and from 1980 to 1986 Vice Chairman of The Houstonian, a 23-acre luxury hotel, club, and spa complex with more than 2,700 members. From 1987 to 1996, he was a Partner in Houston Partners, a Texas-based venture capital firm. Mr. Ramsey continues to serve as a Director of Allied Waste. |
