Roger L. Gilbertson, M.D., is president and chief executive officer of MeritCare Health System. He is the only President/CEO that MeritCare has had since its beginning in 1993.
Dr. Gilbertson served his residency in radiology at the University of Minnesota and Minneapolis VA Hospital and is board certified in radiology and radiation oncology. He was a member of Fargo Clinic MeritCare from 1987-1992, serving on the Fargo Clinic Board of Directors from 1988-1992. He is a clinical faculty member of the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr. Gilbertson is a member of the Board of Directors of Bank of The West; Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development Corporation, Board Member of Neuropsychiatric Research Institute, Board Member of Voluntary Hospitals of America Upper Midwest; Member of North Dakota Healthcare Association Board of Directors, and a member of Concordia College Board of Regents, elected to the Greater North Dakota Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in October 2005. He is Chair of Downtown Community Partnership Board, and Renaissance Zone Authority. Dr. Gilbertson is serving on the Metropolitan Section Governing Council of the American Hospital Association, and the American Hospital Regional Policy Board 6.
