Mr. Brand has had a distinguished 30-year career as a geologist, honing his expertise in the definition of hydrocarbon plays in the Taranaki Basin for the past 18 years. In addition to preparing permit applications and evaluating exploration acreage for Trans-Orient, he has consulted for numerous other companies, including Arco, Shell and Todd. After graduating from Oxford University in 1974, he worked for British Petroleum as a geologist in both the North Sea and onshore United Kingdom. Following a move to New Zealand in 1982, he served for three years as a chief geologist for New Zealand Oil and Gas. Before exploring for oil, he briefly worked as a field officer for DeBeers in Africa, prospecting for diamonds. He has a B.A. in geology from Oxford University. |
