Roger Mitchell was named president and chief operating officer of Texas Gas Service when ONEOK acquired that company in 2003.
A native of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Mitchell holds a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the University of Oklahoma and is a graduate of the University of Colorado’s executive development program.
Mitchell joined the company in 1978 in the public relations department and was named manager of corporate responsibility a few years later. He also served as an area manager and a district manager and manager of communications before being named vice president of Oklahoma Natural Gas Company’s Eastern Region in 2001. He served in that position until he took the Texas position in January 2003.
He is a member of the American, Southern and Texas Gas Associations and is active in Austin community affairs. He is a member of the board of directors for the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce and also serves Opportunity Austin and Meals on Wheels. He is a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma and has served on numerous United Way committees in various Oklahoma locations. |
