Roger MacFarlane has served as Chief Executive Officer of UTi Worldwide since May 2000 shortly after which he helped spearhead our initial public offering in the U.S. on the NASDAQ National Market. Mr. McFarlane has also served as a Director since our formation in 1995. One of the founders of the company he has more than three decades of experience in the transportation and logistics industry. Previously he held various executive positions including Joint Chief Executive for BAX Global a subsidiary of The Brink’s Company a New York Stock Exchange-traded company. Prior to this Mr. MacFarlane served as a Director and in other executive capacities including Chief Executive Officer for international freight forwarder WTC International N.V. listed on AMEX and based in California before it was acquired by BAX Global in 1987. In 1976 he co-founded Rand Freight in South Africa which acquired WTC through a reverse takeover in 1984. Mr. MacFarlane began his career in 1970 at Rennies Consolidated Holdings the leading transportation company in South Africa at the time. He earned his B.A. and L.L.B. from the University of Cape Town. |
