Roger Marks is Senior Vice President, Industry Relations, for NextWave Broadband.
Mr. Marks chairs the IEEE 802.16 Working Group on Broadband Wireless Access and has done so since he initiated the effort in 1998. He also serves the IEEE 802 as a member of the Executive Committee and as China Liaison Official.
From 1989-2006, Mr. Marks was a physicist with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), a U.S. Department of Commerce laboratory in Boulder, Colorado, USA.
Mr. Marks earned an A.B. in Physics from Princeton University, a M.S.E.E. from the University of Utah, and a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Yale University. Author of over 80 publications, his awards include the 2003 Individual Governmental Vision Award from the Wireless Communications Association, a 1995 IEEE Technical Field Award, and five U.S. Department of Commerce medals. Mr. Marks developed the IEEE Radio and Wireless Conference and chaired it from 1996 through 1999. He is a Fellow of the IEEE and served as an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer for seven years. |
