Under her creative direction, Robin Shapiro has helped build Corbett's reputation as the "destination" agency for pharmaceutical companies in search of a proven strategy for increasing brand market share.
Shapiro upholds the agency's unique collision of creative perspectives, bringing together the best of two worlds -- health professional and consumer advertising. This collision of perspectives has helped Corbett produce creative ideas that are surprising, relevant and emotional.
Shapiro first joined Corbett in 1990 as a copywriter and quickly seized the opportunity to apply her consumer brand-building experience to the pharmaceutical industry. During her first five years at the agency, Shapiro led the creative development for dermatology brands owned by Westwood Squibb (now known Bristol Myers Squibb). Shapiro also helped build successful brands while garnering numerous industry awards, including a Gold Rx Award and a Silver In-Awe Award, the most prestigious award given to marketing and communications agencies that target life science companies.
In 1995, Shapiro launched and led the creative direction for global, blue chip pharmaceutical brands, including Pepcid and Avapro. In 1999, she was one of the primary architects behind DDB Corbett, a joint venture agency between Omnicom affiliate DDB Chicago and Corbett.
Shapiro began her career in 1987 as a consumer-advertising copywriter for Campbell Mithun Esty in Chicago, working with such consumer brands as Corona Beer and Land O'Lakes Butter. Before that, she attended Southern Illinois University and Columbia College. |
