Roberto Marcoccia has 21 years' experience in the development of high-speed telecommunications and data networking equipment. Roberto joined StrataLight in May 2001. Prior to Stratalight, Roberto was Director of Software Development for Calient Networks, an optical switch manufacturer. At Calient, he was responsible for the development of GMPLS control and management software. Previously, Roberto was Director of Engineering for WaveSpan Corporation, a wireless telecom systems vendor, where he managed the development of the industry's first and highest capacity Wireless IP Integrated Access System, with responsibility for both hardware and software. Roberto previously held senior engineering and engineering management positions at Airwave Technology, Xircom and Condor Systems. He received a BSCS degree from San Jose State University
