Additional Information
Robert Young, Vice President, specializes in helping companies gain significant performance improvement from their processes at strategic, planning, and operational levels. He consults widely to chemicals and petroleum clients throughout the world. In recent engagements, Mr. Young directed an enterprise-wide operations diagnostic for a plastics producer, which led to increased stability in the client’s planning process as well as an improved account focus, 40 percent reduction in railcar fleet, and 30 percent reduction in product inventory. For a leading agricultural chemicals and biotechnology manufacturer, he designed a program to improve economic profit by $200 million over three years by recognizing the value proposition of certain product segments and focusing account service in those segments. For two Asian chemical and petrochemical producers, Mr. Young valued olefins, polymers, and intermediates businesses in preparation for a merger. He directed a performance improvement initiative for a USGC polymers producer, while optimizing the enterprise from raw materials purchase through delivery of the resin. Previously, Mr. Young led the Performance Improvement practice at Arthur D. Little, combining operations management, information technology, and e-business practices in North America. Earlier, he spent 14 years with the Exxon Corporation working in petrochemicals and refining in both corporate and operational roles. |
