Robert Shaw currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Video Insight. Robert served as Chief Executive Officer of Emerging.com from October of 1999 until December of 2001. Emerging.com was a traditional dot.com infrastructure and web development company. Shaw founded Ashford.com in March of 1998. Ashford was the leading Internet retailer of luxury and premium personal accessories. Ashford.com completed an initial public offering lead by Goldman Sachs & Co. in September of 1999. Shaw served as Chairman of the Board from its inception until GSI Commerce acquired it in March 2002. In 1989, Mr. Shaw founded Synergy Development Corporation and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer until the successful sale of the company to E-partners, an Austin Ventures-backed IT services roll-up. Before founding Synergy, Shaw served as the Vice President of StyleWare, Inc., an award-winning software development company for the Apple II and Macintosh platforms. At a very young age, he and his two partners were able to grow their business from a Rice University dormitory to a 55 person, industry-leading company that was sold to Apple Computer less than 3 years after being formed. StyleWare's products included MultiScribe and what would later become AppleWorks. In 1989, Shaw earned a BBA from the University of St. Thomas. He was selected as Year 2000 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year and selected by Texas E-com as a Top Ten award winner for the Year 2000. |
