Bob Mahoney, a member of the firm and chair of its Litigation Department, devotes his practice to complex commercial litigation matters. Bob has significant experience in all aspects of commercial litigation including pretrial procedure, trials and appellate practice. He has appeared in the federal and state courts of New Jersey as well as federal courts in several other jurisdictions. Bob has tried cases in the state and federal courts and has argued cases before the Appellate Division of the New Jersey Superior Court, the Supreme Court of New Jersey, various Federal District Courts and the Court of Appeals for both the Second and Third Circuits.
While Bob’s practice continues to involve a wide variety of commercial cases, patent infringement and other intellectual property litigation constitute a large portion of his practice. A large portion of the matters he handles involves e-commerce and information technology litigation. These matters typically involve breach of warranty and fraud claims, as well as disputes concerning the ownership of licensed computer technology. Bob has also litigated domain name and web site content cases.
Bob has also handled antitrust and trade regulation litigation during his legal career. Bob’s experience in antitrust matters usually arises in the context of patent and trademark validity and infringement cases. Bob has substantial experience in litigating environmental cost recovery actions and claims for insurance coverage for environmental remediation. He has also handled legal malpractice defense, trade secret and construction litigation. |
